Phonon symmetry in WS2 crystal ( bulk, monolayer and poly-layer slabs) is analyzed using the site symmetry approach for 3D space and 2D layer groups. Results of phonon frequencies hybrid DFT calculations are presented . The changes in Raman and IR active frequencies are considered for slabs with increasing thickness.
