Principal Investigator: Dr. habil. Larisa Grigorjeva
Project duration in years: 4 (2013-2016)
Latvian Science Council Grant No.302/2012
The aim of project is the further investigation of the fundamental processes due to local disorder (nanoparticles and ceramic grains surfaces, localized states in glasses and glass ceramics) affected to energy transfer and energy accumulation in materials prospective for biomedical, dosimetric, lightening, sensing applications. The studies include the optical time-resolved, magnetooptical, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy methods. The results obtained for single crystal will be compared with those obtained under equal conditions for nanocrystals, ceramics, glass, glass-ceramics. The main attention will be aimed to study mechanisms and efficiency up-conversion, exciton-exciton scattering processes, oxygen-related defects and Ge centers luminescence in glasses.
