Successful scientific collaboration with Taiwan’s National Sun Yat-Sen University (NSYSU) has resulted in the formation of Taiwan and the Baltic States Research Center on Physics which was opened on March 12th 2020 at the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP LU).
The opening ceremony was honored by a delegation of 8 members from Taiwan’s NSYSU, representatives of the Taipei mission in Latvia, members of the Latvian parliament, as well as members from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Science, University of Latvia and ISSP. In the solemn ceremony on the 12th of March, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed, and the official plaque of the center revealed. After the ceremony, scientists from both the NSYSU and ISSP presented their latest research.
