The workshop on Wednesday 27 13:00 will be devoted to the reports on the last year's projects of Students and Young researchers.
The results will be presented by
13.00-13.20 Raitis Gržibovskis "Correlation between charge transfer treshold and open circuit voltage in organic solar cells"
13.00-13.40 Kaspars Kaprāns "Electrophoretic deposition of thin films of transition metal oxides composite material and their application in lithium ion batteries"
13.40-14.00 Kevon Kadivala "Bottom-up synthesis of p-type TMDs materials for electronic and optoelectronic applications"
14.00-14.20 Peteris Lesnicenoks "Research of catalyc materials with the new GC/MS for the electrocatalytic decomposition process of CO2"
General information from Anatolijs Šarakovskis about the format of this workshop and those to follow:
I guess you have noticed that currently, the number of international PhD students as well as international post-docs at ISSP UL is quite high. Similar tendency has already been observed in lectures - some of the courses are already given in English. The Master programme that next year will become international also foresees the lectures to be realized in English. If the presentations in our weekly workshops will continue mainly in Latvian, most of the international colleagues will be left without a possibility to actively participate in them. That is why I encourage the current as well as future speakers to give their presentations in English.
In the case of our workshops, contrary to the lectures, it is not (and cannot be) a must, but I guess it would be beneficial to all of us: additional training for the authors in presenting their results in English, on one side, and wider participation and involvement of the staff at ISSP UL, on the other.
