ABOUT H2020 SPIRE PROJECT “DEEP SCIENCE HACKATHON”
Dr.phys. Andris Anspoks (ISSP UL Deputy Director of Innovation) and Gunārs Ķīsis (S/B PRO Startup Studija) speak at the scientific workshop of ISSP UL Doctoral School “Functional materials and nanotechnologies” on April 26.
The Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) and S/B PRO Startup Studija for the first time in Latvia are organizing Deep Science Hackathon (new product development workshop), which will identify the strongest materials-based hi-tech ideas and teams with innovation potential that will play a lasting role in Baltic star-up environment. Within three days, participants will form interdisciplinary teams with pre-submitted ideas, will develop the ideas with mentors and present a commercialization plan to the jury, scientists, investors and the interested parties at the end of the event. During the event, participants will be provided with mentor support, a co-working environment, and information to complete their commercialization steps.
The best idea will receive a money prize, and the best three ideas will have the opportunity to continue the development of their idea in the ISSP UL and S / B PRO six-month support program (mentors, prototype development, future fundraising), as well as other valuable prizes from supporters. Both the ideas (TRL0) and prototypes are welcome. Participants outside ISSP UL with various competencies (in chemistry, business development, design, engineering, programming, marketing, etc.) are welcome.
