The Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL), in collaboration with the ISSP UL Foundation and the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics, and Optometry of the University of Latvia (LU FMOF), is proud to announce the 12th European Conference on Luminescent Detectors and Transformers of Ionizing Radiation (LUMDETR 2024), will be held in Riga, Latvia from June 16th to 21st, 2024.

LUMDETR 2024 will continue the prestigious tradition set forth by its predecessors, with past meetings hosted in Estonia, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Latvia, and Germany. This conference provides a notable platform for the gathering of top experts, researchers, and scholars worldwide, facilitating an interdisciplinary discussion on the latest developments in fundamental and applied research in areas such as radioluminescence, energy transfer and storage in solid-state systems, the physics and chemistry of luminescent phosphors and scintillation materials, and their associated applications.

Esteemed scientists will deliver plenary and invited speeches, offering insights into the conference's core topics. Moreover, attendees will have the opportunity to present their research through both oral and poster presentations, enriching the conference program with diverse perspectives and innovative findings. The conference will bring together attendees from 17 different countries.

"We are excited to host LUMDETR 2024 in Riga," says Dr. phys. Anatoli Popov, the Chairman of the LUMDETR 2024 organizing committee. "This conference represents a crucial juncture for the exchange of knowledge and ideas, driving forward the frontier of research in luminescent detectors and transformers of ionizing radiation. Moreover, remembering that Latvia has always been one of the key world centers in this scientific field, the present holding of this conference in Riga is another confirmation that Latvia has and still has a strong scientific school in the research of luminescent processes and their successful applications."

The conference organizers thank the University of Latvia, the European Radiation Dosimetry Group (EURADOS), SIA Baltic Scientific Instruments for their support in making LUMDETR 2024 possible.
