Scientists and faculty members from the University of Latvia (UL), Riga Technical University (RTU), the Institute of Solid State Physics at UL (ISSP UL) and the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at UL (IMCS UL) have established the Latvian Quantum Initiative. The association will help to oversee and coordinate quantum-related activities in Latvia, participate in European networks, follow the needs of the Latvian industry, and represent its interests in the development of quantum technologies.

The development of quantum technologies is a challenge of humanity that every country needs to take part in, and this initiative is Latvia’s way of joining this challenge. The establishment of the Latvian Quantum Initiative is an opportunity to connect Latvian scientists with European and global scientists, to coordinate activities in the field of quantum technologies in Latvia, and to ensure that they are focused and effective. The initiative will not only involve scientists, but also companies and public institutions.
