Engineering and technology, and life sciences dominate the applications for the 2022 Latvian Council of Science’s Open Call for Fundamental and Applied Research Projects. 179.4 million has been requested for the projects, while the available national budget is 13.6 million.
Project applications were received in all fields of science. The largest number of projects was in “Engineering and Technology” with 197 applications, followed by “Life Sciences” with 148 applications.
34 Latvian research institutions submitted project proposals. The projects require funding of 179.4 million euros. The 2022 call for proposals has an available national budget of 13.6 million euros. The evaluation results will be summarised and decisions are taken in November.
The most active project applicants by a number of applications:
- University of Latvia (225); 51 of them were from our institute ISSP UL,
- Riga Technical University (108),
- Rīga Stradiņš University (58),
- Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry (25),
- Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre (24).
