This year, 17 Latvian startups, namely, companies, accelerators, co-working spaces, and industry development promoters, have been nominated in several categories of the Global Startup Awards.
The Global Startup Awards is an international event that raises the profile of startups nationally, regionally, and globally, highlighting their most outstanding achievements. The Global Startup Awards evolved from the Nordic Startup Awards (NSAwards), first held in 2012. In 2015, the Global Startup Awards were born, and the event started to take place in other regions, including the CESAwards Central Europe regional competition. In 2020, Latvia’s Castprint was named the startup with the biggest social impact at the CESAwards, while Crassula won in fintech. Startup Wise Guys, which is also active in Latvia, was named the best accelerator programme.
