Until May 31, 2023, candidates for the UNESCO and L'ORÉAL Prize "Women in Science" for 2023 in physics, mathematics and computer science can be submitted.

In 2021, seven scientists from the Baltics received an award, including three scientists from Latvia – Dr.biol. Vita Rovīte on research in molecular biology, Mg.phys. Inga Pudža for her work in solid state physics and Dr. Dana Kigitovic for her research in medicine.

Inga Pudža, L´Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Young Talent 2021 from Latvia cannot imagine a better career for herself.

Currently, Inga works in state of art EXAFS Spectroscopy Laboratory at the Institute of Solid State Physics University of Latvia. In her research, she deals with smart materials including thermochromic inorganic compounds that are sensitive to changes in temperature.

She is inspired to develop her skills and grow as a scientist. To every girl and young woman out there, she wants to remind that - you can achieve much more than you think! Just keep working towards your goal and don't forget to enjoy the journey!
