Today, 11 February, is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015. Although the global community has made significant efforts to inspire and involve women and girls in science and to achieve gender equality, their participation is still incomplete. This year's theme is "s "Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Water Unites Us".
In January 2022, the Code of Gender Equality was approved by the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia, which aims to ensure an integrated, targeted, and effective institutional policy promoting the implementation of equal rights and opportunities for women and men.
In honor of this day, the children of our staff, relatives, and the kindergarten group "Pērlītes" responded to the invitation of the EUROfusion consortium to celebrate this day by submitting drawings on the topic "Woman in Science".
