February is over. This year it has been eventful, even though all of them have taken place remotely. The ISSP UL’s 37th scientific conference, which was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Laboratory of Semiconductor Physics Problems (LSPP), has ended. The traditional Scientists’ Breakfast gathered present and some past researchers of the institute to share their memories about the formation of LSPP. Our researchers have received the award of the Latvian Academy of Sciences (LAS) for one of the best achievements in 2020 and letters of commendation from the President of the LAS, a virtual tour of the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) has taken place at the institute. Application for this year’s competition "Solar Cup" for school youth was announced and scientists have been actively communicating about their profession, work in the field of innovation, its challenges and have tried to break stereotypes about the profession of a scientist in the series of photo stories "Cool Scientist”.
