Yesterday, February 9, members of the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) and other interested people took part in a virtual excursion to the Institute of Solid State Physics of the University of Latvia! During the tour, the head of the Spectroscopy Laboratory, Dr. Anatolijs Šarakovskis demonstrated the equipment and described research directions of the laboratory. In turn, the director Dr. Mārtiņš Rutkis answered the questions of the attractive moderator Jose Pozo about the Institute's cooperation with industry and offers to EPIC members. After the active discussion, two prototypes created at the institute were demonstrated: New generation wavefront sensor and Thermoelectric radiation sensor.
The excursion was attended by around 50 participants from different countries and continents, reaching 105 views on YouTube after 20 hours.
Such a tour would not be possible on-site in one hour!
