On January 21 Director of the Latvian Science Council Dr. Prof. Gita Rēvalde participated in the discussion of the high-level association Science Europe “On the Science Europe Strategic Plan for 2021-2026”.
Science Europe is the association representing major public organisations that fund or perform excellent, ground-breaking research in Europe. Science Europe’s 36 member organisations from 27 European countries are among the most important public research organisations funding and performing scientific research in Europe today
The high-level meeting reviewed and discussed in working groups the draft organizational strategy for 2021-2026, as well as the multi-annual action plan and its implementation means.
The organization sets three priorities:
1. Strengthen Science Europe as a leader in shaping European Research Area policy development
2. To promote the development of research culture
3. Strengthen the role and contribution of science to global challenges.
