Over the weekend the world’s largest online hackathon The Global Hack brought together nearly 12,000 people from 100 countries around the world who jointly developed projects that could potentially solve the problems caused by the COVID-19 crisis.

Hackathon was organized in eight different topical Tracks and the Economy and Environment tracks of the Global Hack were led by Latvian creative forces with the support of Swedbank. For each of the tracks, the jury selected three most successful projects which received money prizes.

The 3rd place and €15,000 prize for the future development of the project was awarded to the Material Mapper team from the Environment track. The team succeeded under the leadership of Latvian Ieva Sibilla Strupule.
