On April 14, 2020, the Government of Latvia approved two national research programs "Digital Resources for the Humanities" and "High Energy Physics and Accelerator Technologies".
The National Research Program "Digital Resources for the Humanities" will develop and increase the usability of digital resources for the humanities and reduce their fragmentation.
The objectives of the national research program “High Energy Physics and Accelerator Technologies” are to strengthen the development of the Latvian scientific community and to implement interdisciplinary research in natural sciences and engineering in the field of high energy physics and accelerator technologies in cooperation with CERN.
The program has been developed in collaboration with the Strategic Management Board, involving representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science, Riga Technical University, University of Latvia, Institute of Solid State Physics, Baltic Scientific Instruments Ltd., University of Maryland, Université Pierre & Marie Curie, University of London and CERN.
