The aim of this publication is to introduce and promote the scientists of the world in the cooperation with Latvian scientists.

The new edition brings together more than 40 articles grouped into four sections - "Science Policy", "Life Sciences", "Current Research Topics in Humanities and Social Sciences", and "Management and Research in Technologies and Engineering".

The English version of the Yearbook contains information about the Latvian Academy of Sciences' international cooperation, program "Women in Science" and the most significant achievements in Latvian science in the year 2019.

On the pages 108 – 114 information about several achievements in theoretical calculations, theoretical modelling and new approaches of the Institute of Solid State Physics, UL are described!
