On November 7-8, 2019, the Ministry of Education and Science, in cooperation with the State Education Development Agency, is organizing a conference on Towards Horizon Europe Implementation in Latvia for the next European Union (EU) research and innovation program Horizon Europe.

Horizon Europe provides € 100 billion for research and innovation to address climate change, strengthen European integrity and global competitiveness. The conference will be opened by President of Latvia Egils Levits. The concept of Horizon Europe will be presented by Jean-Eric Paquet, Director-General of the European Commission for Research and Innovation.

On the first day of the conference, Latvia's achievements in the EU research and innovation program Horizon 2020 will be discussed.

Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia will be represented by the Chair of the Scientific Council and senior researcher of Laboratory of Spectroscopy Dr. phys. Laima Trinklere.
