The LAS Grand Medals 2015 were awarded to Professor Andris Šternbergs and Professor Arvīds Barševskis

This award consists of an engraved medal, a personal diploma, and a cash award. For the second year in a row, the cash prize of EUR 10,000 (post-tax) is funded by the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation

The LAS Grand Medal 2015 to Andris Šternbergs is for his contribution to the development of new functional materials and nanotechnologies. The LAS Grand Medal 2015 to Arvīds Barševskis is for his significant contribution to the development of entomology in Latvia and for establishment of the school of coleopterology in Daugavpils.
