On April 10, ISSP UL participated in the Ministry of the Interior's Industry Day 2025, a major event that brought together researchers, industry and government representatives to discuss how science and innovation can strengthen Latvia's defence capabilities.
Industry stands lined the premises of the Ministry of the Interior, showcasing a wide range of solutions that are relevant in the context of today's security challenges. ISSP UL presented research areas with potential applications in defence and public security, such as high-sensitivity laser sensor technologies.
The event also highlighted the importance of close cooperation between the scientific community and the national security sector, as well as between the public and private sectors – this was a hot topic for the panel discussions with participants from the Ministry of the Interior, the State Border Guard, other public institutions and representatives of private companies.
It was a pleasure to meet representatives from the Interior Ministry, defence authorities and industry and ISSP UL looks forward to further cooperation where science meets industry needs.
